Garage Floor Coatings in Newport, MI and Southeast Michigan

Garage floor coatings are our full system for the garage that gets used hard. If you park on it every day, drag salt in all winter, and want a floor that still looks good come spring, this is the build.

A garage floor coating is a complete system, not a single coat of paint. We grind and prep the concrete, repair cracks, lay down an epoxy base, broadcast color flake into it for texture and look, and seal it with a clear topcoat. The flake does two jobs: it gives the floor a speckled, finished look and it adds grip so a wet floor is not a skating rink. The topcoat is what stands up to hot tire pickup, the peeling you see on cheap floors where the tires sit.

Why this matters in Michigan

Your garage floor takes the worst of winter. Salt comes in on the tires, snowmelt pools under the car, and the freeze and thaw cycle works on the slab all season. A full coating system seals the concrete and gives the salt and water nowhere to go.

Our process for garage floor coatings

  1. 1

We look at the garage, measure it, and quote the job.

  2. 2

We grind the concrete and remove any old coating or sealer.

  3. 3

We repair cracks, pitting, and spalling so the base is sound.

  4. 4

We apply the epoxy base coat and broadcast your chosen color flake.

  5. 5

We topcoat the floor so it resists hot tires, salt, and daily use, then you park on it.

Where it shines

  • Built for daily parking and winter salt.
  • Color flake adds texture, look, and grip.
  • Topcoat resists hot tire pickup and peeling.
  • Seamless, so salt and snowmelt cannot soak in.

Honest limits

  • The garage needs to be empty and dry for the work.
  • You will not park on it until the system has cured.
  • A full system costs more than a single coat, because there is more to it.

Care and maintenance

Sweep regularly and mop with a mild cleaner. Rinse off road salt through the winter instead of letting it sit. Keep sharp tools from dragging across the topcoat and the floor will keep its gloss for years.

Garage Floor Coatings FAQ

What is hot tire pickup?+

It is the peeling you see where tires sit on cheap coatings. Hot tires soften a weak coating and lift it off the slab. Our ground base and topcoat are built to resist it.

How soon can I park on it again?+

You will not park on it until the system has fully cured. We will tell you when it is ready for vehicles so you do not mark a soft floor.

Do I need to empty the garage first?+

Yes. The floor needs to be clear and dry so we can grind, coat, and broadcast flake across the whole slab without working around obstacles.

What is the color flake for?+

The flake gives the floor its speckled look and adds texture for grip. It also helps hide the small imperfections that show on a plain solid color.

Will salt still damage a coated floor?+

A coated floor seals the concrete so salt cannot soak in. Sweep and rinse the salt off through the winter and the surface stays in good shape.
